Just after wrapping up his Australia and New Zealand tour, Australian producer 1tbsp isn’t slowing down—he’s celebrating the release of his six-track EP, Hotel Living. The EP features previously released singles like “Wet Peak Stars,” “Rush (Missing Out On Me),” and “Isso,” along with three new tracks: “It Hurts So Bad,” “Dolly Destructiva,” and “Rosas Y Besitos.”

The Australian musician ended his tour last Friday (June 6) at the Princess Theatre in Brisbane, Meanjin. Now, he’s already shifting gears, announcing U.S. tour dates and performing today at his label’s Sumoclic special party alongside Breaks, Girl_irl, Meth Math, and 99 Scott.

Talking about the EP, “Dolly Destructiva” brings fast-paced beats, a smooth bassline, sparkling synths, and Cherry Chola’s vocals. “It Hurts So Bad,” featuring DJ ADHD, evokes a euphoric feeling with its dreamy atmosphere, dynamic textures, and captivating vocals.

“Rosas Y Besitos” stands out as a low-end-driven single with pulsating rhythms, mesmerizing vocals, and a crisp, engaging vibe.

1tbsp spends a lot of time in the studio, constantly working to perfect his records. “The process was similar to how I always work. I make hundreds of sketches, usually a few a day, until some start to stand out,” he says.

And it’s not just in the studio where he’s experimenting. He’s also thoughtful about his DJ sets:
“Also in DJing, I like to explore sounds that might influence my production, and I started to incorporate some old French house music that I listened to as a teenager. I think that really came through in the EP. I worked with Cherry Chola on three of the six songs; she’s become one of my favourite people to make songs with.”
