Nightcolours search for the best new talent leads them to the Newcastle’s Baardman for their 50th release.

In his burgeoning career, Baardman has already racked up an impressive CV of labels including Pursuit, Dear Deer & Eton Messy.

Kicking things off with title track Helpless Euphoria, you’re immediately immersed into Baardman’s spacious, atmospheric & twitchy soundscape. Robotic clicks and twisted mournful vocals flit in and out before the delicate melodic flourishes enter the scene lifting things into a euphoric haze.

Next is Lead by Love, straight away the tempo is lifted and the feeling is more urgent. Based around a deliciously feel good melodic line that meanders effortlessly throughout, this one drives forward with uplifting goodness.

Cries rounds off the EP with its muscular, menacing synths and driving beats. Dark, trippy sounds infiltrate throughout keeping the vibe thoroughly heads down before a sunlit arp breaks through the darkness and pushes the track on even further.

Release date: 2022-02-18
