Always one for darkness, THIS.IS.MARGUS knows how to turn it into the type of music similar folks desire. Having already made a name for himself in the Estonian clubs and debuted material recently, people are expecting more quality. Nonetheless, THIS.IS.MARGUS delivers with his latest single ‘Visions of Infinity‘, with help from Mitch de Klein and Kostas Maskalides. De Klein, a Dutch DJ and radio host, and Maskalides, a Greek artist, produced remixes to spice up THIS.IS.MARGUS’ track.

‘Visions of Infinity’, released on Phobiq Recordings, lays the groundwork with a thumping, urgent beat and sandy percussion to start. A simple synth groove plays throughout the track under brighter synthwork and a robotic delivery of the vocals on top. You can feel the moody tension all throughout the track and it makes for one hell of an enticing experience. Next, Mitch de Klein’s remix offers a more pungent approach to the synthwork, feeling more acidic but still gracefully melodic also. The percussion sharpens up on this track as well, leading to the remix feeling more impactful compared to the original.

Lastly, Kostas Maskalides’ remix feels almost like an entirely different track altogether, starting things off with some very static-like percussion. From there, the more sandy percussion makes a return and brings more droning synths with it, giving a dramatic vibe. It makes this version of the track feel sorta Gothic, like this could work for a Gothic video game score.

THIS.IS.MARGUS, Mitch de Klein, and Kostas Maskalides all make phenomenal Techno music in the own unique ways, putting it best. Certainly, these three tracks here prove exactly why that is the case. As I have noted, it goes to show how every individual can see and imagine things differently. And those visions fit different desires, the simple beauty of music.
