Local police stated the man, who was in his 40s, died on a nearby railway line.

A man passed away just before 4 a.m. Sunday morning at Glastonbury Festival 2023 following a “medical incident” on a footpath, commonly known as the old railway line. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

According to reporting by The Independent, Avon and Somerset Police stated “Shortly before 4 am today emergency services responded to a medical incident involving a man in his 40s at Glastonbury Festival. The incident happened on a footpath known as the old railway line. Sadly, the man died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”

At this time, the man’s name has not been shared with the public. It marks the first death at the festival since 2019 when a 60-year-old man was found dead in his tent. That death was also not found to be suspicious.
