Sol Selectas, the record label known for its eclectic and vibrant releases, presents a mesmerizing organic house EP by Egyptian artist Hot Oasis, enriched with dynamic remixes by A X L and a collaborative effort by Sabo and Sarkis Mikael.

Hot Oasis, a name that has graced the catalogues of esteemed labels like Lump Records and Stil vor Talent, draws deeply on his Egyptian heritage to produce music that evokes the mystique of desert sands and ancient civilizations. His tracks weave a tapestry of enchanting melodies and rhythmic patterns that transport listeners to a world of magical realism, resonating with the soul of the Middle East.

The EP kicks off with ‘Ghazali,’ a track that captivates with the emotional vocals of Egyptian singer Aziza, set against a backdrop of flowing percussion and majestic pads. The track, whose title translates to “beautiful person” in Arabic slang, expresses Hot Oasis’s ability to blend traditional elements with contemporary sounds, creating a lush, auditory experience. Following up is ‘Farfasha,’ a lively piece that fuses breakbeat rhythms with the shimmering chords of a santoor, played by Bahramji, who also contributes atmospheric vocals. The title, meaning “Happy” in Egyptian, perfectly captures the track’s essence – a jubilant celebration of life through music.

On the remix front, Sabo and Sarkis Mikael transform ‘Farfasha’ into a cinematic journey, maintaining the track’s original vocals but shifting the rhythmic structure to a more straightforward four-on-the-floor beat, elevating the track’s energy and suspense. Meanwhile, A X L returns to Sol Selectas with his take on ‘Ghazali,’ speeding up the tempo and intensifying the percussion to craft an upbeat, cosmic version that showcases his unique ability to meld traditional Egyptian musical motifs with modern electronic flair. This EP highlights the individual talents of each artist involved and underscores the collaborative spirit and cultural fusion that Sol Selectas embodies.
