Next year, in 2025, there will be an avalanche of new games ready to be consumed by our hungry appetites. With new advances in game development, many new games are being built through Unreal Engine 5. Many MMORPGs set to be released are all powered by this engine. This promises to give gamers new graphics and visuals that are more impressive and more responsive than before. So, let’s hope 2025 can satiate our desires and provide us with these long-awaited MMORPGs.
1. Soulframe: Preludes
Developed by Digital Extremes, Soulframe is a free-to-play MMORPG hybrid featuring an open world with co-op gameplay. With its impressive graphics and various storytelling journeys to explore, this MMORPG offers a lot to all players. With a dark fantasy setting, Soulframe promises to give players an immersive open world, heavily emphasizing themes of nature, history, and restoration. After all, it is a fantasy RPG – just with a few MMO elements thrown inside.
Currently, there is little to be gleaned about this game. There is currently no Steam page. This is not unusual considering that these were the same developers of Warframe – which did not appear on Steam until release. Thus, you will most likely be unable to wishlist Soulframe until its release. Nevertheless, this is certainly not a game to be missed next year.
2. Chrono Odyssey
Chrono Odyssey is a Next-Generation action MMORPG with refined visuals to immerse even the most unlikely gamers. With an intricately designed open world, this game involves action-based combat that reflects Ghost of Tsushima or Dark Souls. From what we know so far, this is no simple hack-and-slash adventure. Opportunities for dungeon crawling and raids are spread across this vast land. Players will need to become reliant on one another for the best chances of survival.
Nevertheless, endless, lucrative tasks are still available for all players, including crafting, logging, mining, and harvesting. Despite its luscious graphics and extensive open world, it is still a MMORPG at heart.
3. ArcheAge Chronicles
It’s another land of opportunity, and it’s time for you to pioneer your path. The world of Auroria is open to players in 2025. Auroria looks to be a rich adventure filled with action-packed combat sequences and various features and unique innovations. ArcheAge Chronicles includes new, refined mechanics within their combat system. These new mechanics will give players more intense and sophisticated action combat with varying styles to choose from and specialise in. This truly is the game of pioneering opportunity. Join the adventure with various quests and missions to take part in. Follow the story, or don’t. The game is in the player’s hands, and your path is yours to take – wherever it may take you.
Whether you are a seasoned MMORPG player, or a relative newcomer, ArcheAge Chronicles promises to be a thrilling open-world adventure.
4. Light No Fire
Unfortunately, Light No Fire has no current release date so far. However, there are high hopes for some news to come of it in 2025. Next year may only see a glimpse of a Beta version or the light of Early Access. Nevertheless, the developers hope for a short marketing cycle, so, hopefully, a 2025 release date will be in the cards.
Unlike some of the others in this list, Light No Fire does not focus its gameplay on action-combat systems. Instead, Light No Fire is an exploration and building game set in a vast open world. The game procedurally generates much of its landscape, providing players with what they need and sometimes what they don’t. From the trailers, this game is still in development. The scale of this open world is similar to that of No Man’s Sky. So good luck not getting lost! There’ll be plenty to uncover within this survival sandbox game and even more to discover within its co-op system.
Although there is little known about the gameplay, Light No Fire is certainly one to look out for next year.
5. Past Fate
Another open-world fantasy MMORPG, Past Fate, is rumored for a 2025 release, but this remains unconfirmed. In Past Fate, the player’s freedom is a core element of this game. Venture across the world of Nendhir, a vast world of varying continents, and choose your fate. Help your chosen faction to rise to power win this ongoing war, and conquer new lands. Recruit other players to join your team and hire and train new mercenaries to help the kingdom in this time of war. There is much to see and enjoy in this fantasy MMORPG. With an expansive world to discover there is much to anticipate about this novel experience.
Developers released gameplay screenshots, but the overall game experience remains largely unclear. However, one aspect to discern is that it may not be the most visually impressive game of the Next Generation. Nevertheless, Past Fate creates a moody atmosphere perfect for a dark, medieval fantasy MMORPG to watch for in 2025.
6. The Quinfall
Another medieval title coming soon in 2025 is that of The Quinfall. It appears that medieval fantasy MMORPGs are a very popular genre, and for good reason. The Quinfall offers some pretty impressive gameplay. Favouring realistic visuals, The Quinfall seems to offer a familiar HUD for players to become acquainted with. With unique battles and an immersive story, The Quinfall promises to be a very different MMORPG experience. Players will be able to explore a grand world of five regions, each with their distinct climates and visuals.
The Quinfall features a dynamic trading system and extensive crafting mechanics. Players are to experiment with different weapons and products for use or sale. Players can build houses for themselves or their clan, creating a place for players to relax or defend.
With an intense story to follow, and plenty of quests to undertake, The Quinfall cannot come any sooner than anticipated.
7. WorldShards
Steering away from the more realistic visuals, WorldShards offers a sandbox MMORPG with delightfully bright visuals. In this sandbox MMORPG, players can construct their dream house, a profitable farm, or even an expansive factory. With emphasis on crafting and harvesting resources, there appears to be little combat. Instead, WorldShards focuses on building and creating your very own perfect island. If crafting and base-building aren’t your thing, then there is still much to explore in this world. There are plenty of quests and adventures to be had across the world of Murrlandia.
Find other like-minded players, build guilds, set up communities, barter, and trade with other players. There is so much to do in this intriguing game. With cartoonish visuals that bring to mind games such as Albion Online, there is much to look forward to.

Taking place in a more apocalyptic setting, Pioner plunges players into a world where interaction is key. Pay attention to the events, factions, and quests that occupy the lands of Pioner. These will be your primary source of survival. Play as a mercenary, a bandit, a caravan guard, an explorer, or a pioneer. The choice is entirely yours. With dungeons, raids, anomalies, factions, and special missions to uncover and complete. There will be little to bore you in this action-heavy MMORPG.
With visuals reminiscent of Call of Duty and PUBG, Pioner is a MMORPG to look forward to. It is certainly something different for this Next Generation. Pioner attempts to adhere to every kind of player, with both PvP and PvE in this action-based MMORPG. So be careful who you befriend…
9. Space Craft
From the developers of Dune: Spice Wars and Wartales, SpaceCraft is Shiro Games’ new MMORPG set in space. There will be elements of exploration and quests throughout the worlds that you will get to explore. The name suggests that crafting will be a major part of the gameplay. Explore the galaxy, and extract resources to help craft new upgrades for your base and even upgrades for your ship. Exploration is key. Crafting will be a major part of gameplay. With so much to uncover about space exploration players will hardly be able to get enough.
Although the trailer lacks specific details about the game, what it shows makes it a game to anticipate. The Steam page currently shows an Early Access release date of 2025; however, this date remains unconfirmed.
10. Epitome
A Next Generation game powered by Ai. Now that doesn’t sound very good, but at the same time, it sounds incredibly intriguing. The developers rendered Epitome using Unreal Engine 5, as with most Next Generation games. Epitome is populated with ‘intelligent’ AI-powered NPCs, which could mean many things. However, there is hope that this AI could mean advances in technology and gaming in the future. It will be a true MMORPG, with servers able to host up to around 33,000 players, and no pay-to-win mechanics. Skill will determine your success.
Epitome is a fantasy set MMORPG within a vast open world ready for exploration. Specialize in certain classes, befriend certain factions, and unlock different abilities. In 2025, begin your new adventure as an Archon.
There are plenty of unique experiences to be had with MMORPGs in 2025. In 2025, fantasy MMORPGs will most likely reign supreme. But that does not mean that any of these others shall be forgotten and lost to time. There is still a lot to look forward to in 2025.
