So often we hear the word war—a heavy word in an already stressful and tiring world. Sadly, it feels inevitable. But music has a way of bringing people together, regardless of borders. The Russian duo LILOVA reminds us of that with their new single, “Gori.”

Dora and Alex met each other in school. Now they are married and have two children. Dora has been singing since childhood, and Alex has been producing music for more than seven years. Together, they form LILOVA, blending their personal and creative lives into a shared artistic voice.

The release includes two remixes: one by Serbia-based artist Tebra and another by Borowsky. Released via Baikal Nomads, the release combines powerful vocals with accordions, violins, and swelling synth pads to create something both emotional and epic.

Based in the South Urals, LILOVA debuted in 2021 with their collaboration with Borowsky, “Liquid Love.” Since then, they’ve released on labels like Lump Records, Shango Records, and Café De Anatolia, gaining attention for their captivating live performances.

The original mix of Gori opens with a slow-paced beat, organic drums, haunting vocals, and live instrumentation.

Borowsky’s remix adds a chugging indie dance bassline and pitched percussion that shifts the groove in a new direction. The remix came from Alex himself under the pseudonym Borowsky, through which he explores a more underground sound.

Tebra’s take builds on the vocals, adding flamenco-style guitar flurries, a pulsing synth bass, and congas that bring bursts of energy to the track.
