Rony Seikaly, the Lebanese-American House music producer and DJ, returns with a new three-track EP titled Mariposa, out now via Stride Records. Mariposa is the second release this year from Rony Seikaly on Stride Records, following Walking Out The Dark in March.
Known as one of the first internationally born players to make a real impact on American basketball, Seikaly always had a deep passion for music. After retiring from the court, he turned his full attention to music production.
Today, he’s racked up over 10 million streams on Spotify, landed more than 46 records in the Beatport Top 100 charts, and is set to return as a headline resident this summer at Circoloco Ibiza.
Speaking about the new release, the EP kicks off with the title track, “Mariposa”—a groovy house cut with a sine-wave bassline, soft piano chords, and drifting vocal phrases.
“Mami” brings a peak-time energy to the set, a dancefloor-ready banger with contagious Spanish vocals and a hypnotic groove. The driving bassline gets you moving from the very first second.
The final track, “New Day,” builds around an uplifting piano melody and joyful vocals, backed by a pounding kick drum, trembling bassline, and crisp, clean percussion.
Rony recently wrapped his North America tour across March and April, playing six shows in cities like Miami, Los Angeles, Montreal, and Chicago.
