Los Angeles trio ASHRR shares their highly anticipated remix of “Sun Song.” The remix is the latest installment from their self-remixed Sunshine Low project. Next Wednesday, their full remix album will be released via Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision Recordings.
The trio—vocalist Steven Davis, jazz-trained pianist and songwriter Josh Charles, and Grammy-nominated engineer/producer Ethan Allen—has been actively producing music since 2018. Their sound is often described as both emotionally rich and rhythmically infectious.
Their reimagination of “Sun Song” opens with a softly looped guitar, cymbal-like textures, crispy claps, and a knocky kick drum. As the track unfolds with a dynamic beat and soothing vocals, this rework transforms the song’s spiritual atmosphere and late-night energy with woozy dub textures, cosmic disco grooves, and sun-drenched rhythms, creating a hypnotic, body-moving experience.
It’s safe to say this remix has something for every listener. It’s got that special vibe—and with just a week to go until the full remix album drops, the anticipation is real.
ASHRR will also bring their sound to the stage this summer at Love International Festival, performing on Thursday, July 10.
