Corsican artist PETRU KSS has announced a new international remix contest celebrating the release of his upcoming Kolibri Live LP. Launched in collaboration with KSS Records, the contest invites producers worldwide to reinterpret a track from the album and enter the creative orbit of PETRU’s Kolibri Space Shuttle concept.
Supported by Novation, Dreadbox, Genki Instruments, and Audiorealism, the contest will reward selected remixes with professional music gear and software.
Open to producers of all backgrounds, the initiative champions authentic, human-made creation. Participants are encouraged to use any tools at their disposal—from DAWs and synthesizers to hardware rigs and live performance setups—at a time when music production is increasingly shaped by AI technologies.
The remix contest runs alongside the release of Kolibri Live LP, a project rooted in PETRU’s ongoing PhD research into live electronic performance. Recorded in the wilderness of Corsica using machines alone, the album explores risk, imperfection, and improvisation as core elements of artistic expression, while fostering creative exchange and collaboration.
The project is accompanied by reinterpretations from Dubfire, .VRIL, Ryan Davis, An On Bast, Arnaud Le Texier, Tobias., Joton, and more. Kolibri Live Part 1 and Part 2 are available now for reference.
The full album is set for release in Q1 2026.
