British electronic music band Gorillaz has released two new singles, “The Hardest Thing” and “Orange County.” The tracks feature Tony Allen, Bizarrap, Kara Jackson, and Anoushka Shankar and arrive ahead of the group’s forthcoming album, The Mountain, set for release on February 27.
The Mountain will mark Gorillaz’ ninth studio album. The project has already been previewed with several singles released throughout 2025, including “The Happy Dictator” featuring Sparks, “The Manifesto” featuring Trueno and Proof, “The God of Lying” featuring IDLES, and “Damascus” featuring Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey.

“The Hardest Thing” has drawn attention from fans for its reflective tone and themes of loss. While the band has not officially commented on the song’s inspiration, listeners have noted its emotional weight and personal nature.
In addition to the digital release, Gorillaz announced a limited-edition vinyl for “The Hardest Thing” and “Orange County.” The vinyl run is limited to 1,500 copies, with artwork created by Jamie Hewlett.
The band has also confirmed dates for The Mountain Tour, which will begin on March 20 in Manchester. The tour will continue through Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff, Nottingham, Liverpool, and Belfast, before concluding with two shows in London on April 1 and April 2.
