French duo Weltmusik have released their new EP, Greenwood, out today via Labo T. The project is built around groove, texture, and evolving atmospheres, highlighting the pair’s cinematic yet club-ready approach to electronic music.
The project was formed in 2018 after the two met in engineering school through a mutual friend. Coming from different musical backgrounds, the duo blends classical training, rock, and orchestral influences with house, funk, and DJ-driven sensibilities.

The title track “Greenwood” unfolds with layered synth work and analog textures, gradually building into a darker and immersive composition. “It started with the synth chords that come up mid-track, partly inspired by a Schubert piece we love,” the duo shared.
Meanwhile, “Harburg,” named after the industrial Hamburg neighborhood where one member once lived, takes a more restrained and introspective approach. “We liked the contrast between the track’s industrial aspect, represented by the rhythm section, and the more melancholic feeling induced by the melodic parts,” they added.
With Greenwood now out, Weltmusik confirmed that more releases are on the way, alongside preparations for a forthcoming live set.
