Veteran trance producer and DJ John 00 Fleming is set to release his first full-length album in six years, The Lost Tribe. The 18-track project arrives April 11 via his imprint, JOOF Recordings.

A pioneer who began DJing at the birth of trance, Fleming has spent more than four decades shaping electronic music culture. With The Lost Tribe, he returns to the long-form approach that defined his career, pushing back against today’s short, algorithm-driven production trends in favor of immersive, patient compositions. The album features all original material.

The title reflects what Fleming sees as a growing disconnect in the current festival-and-streaming era — where tracks are often built for immediate impact and viral moments. For him, the album serves as both a response and a reminder of electronic music’s roots: long nights, rule-breaking energy, and shared experiences on the dance floor.

That philosophy mirrors his DJ style. Known for extended sets that can stretch eight hours or more, Fleming treats the dance floor as a space for storytelling rather than spectacle. Even in recent years, he has continued to headline with multi-hour performances, prioritizing depth and progression over rapid-fire drops.

The Lost Tribe also marks a personal chapter. The album was shaped during a period of reflection, including Fleming’s battle with cancer, an experience that reshaped his outlook on creativity and purpose. That perspective adds emotional weight to the record, blending power and vulnerability with the confidence of a seasoned artist.

The project leans into cinematic arrangements, expansive intros, and evolving structures. The tracks are crafted to be experienced as a journey — whether in a club or through a full-length listen at home.

“Six years in the making, this album captures key moments and milestones from across my career, drawing inspiration from the highs, lows, and personal ambitions shaped by a constantly evolving music industry.” John 00 Fleming said.
