Hot Creations prepares to welcome a milestone release, as Riton’s Gucci Soundsystem project makes its debut on the label with F*** Me Right feat. DJ Funk & Vula. Made up of Grammy Award winning producer Riton and long-term friend Ben Rymer, the single features legendary Chicago house veteran DJ Funk and esteemed Basement Jaxx vocalist Vula.

In today’s music scene, Riton is a worldwide recognized musician. The acclaimed British producer received a Grammy nomination in 2017 for one of the year’s biggest tracks, Rinse & Repeat, which bridged the gap between modern pop and underground electronic music. In 2019, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on Silk City (Mark Ronson & Diplo) and Dua Lipa’s Electricity. Since then, Riton has collaborated with a number of well-known artists, including Kylie Minogue, The Chemical Brothers, and Gorgon City, to name a few.

For decades, Ben Rymer has been a fixture in London’s club scene. Ben’s club background includes appearances at some of the scene’s most prestigious nighttime venues, including Fabric in London and Space in Ibiza. Ben is one half of Gucci Soundsystem and was previously a member of The Fat Truckers, who toured with Jarvis Cocker’s rock band Pulp.

Vula’s lovely vocals open into quick kick-hat combos at the beginning of the song. As 4×4 percussion patterns march on to generate that four-to-the-floor impression, a funky, guitar-like bassline quickly complements the proceedings. It’s an unabashed party anthem, as you’d expect from Jamie Jones‘ flagship label, but it has a soulful underlying beat thanks to DJ Funk and Vula’s contributions.

Henry (Riton) and I first met DJing around east London. After running a basement club and putting out a few tracks together, we decided to get back on the Gucci Soundsystem horse. Now we’ve been able to collaborate with DJ Funk, who’s absolutely God tier, so it’s all going right off!
