A remix collection of the well-known songs Tron, Caligula, and Marathon Man by Stephan Bodzin lands today via Marc Romboy’s Systematic imprint. Raxon, Fedele, Mathew Jonson, Elax, and Hannes Bieger are just a few of the label favorites whose remixes are featured on the album’s five songs.
First up is Raxon’s remix, which is a bouncing, synth-fueled techno track. Raxon calls the original one of his “personal favorites.” Fedele creates a remix of his “favorite piece of electronic club music in the last 20 years” by speeding up the tempo with driving kick-hat combinations and thickening bass tones underneath. Next up is Mathew Jonson, whose minimally inspired remix highlights his distinctive, uncluttered sound and garnered a “fantastic response in [his] live sets,” while Elax’s remix whets our appetite for the dancefloor with its consistent usage of groove-led house components. Hannes Bieger finally brings proceedings to a close, describing it best in doing so: “The idea was to kind of connect the ‘old’ Bodzin to the ‘new’ one while infusing the remix with a healthy dose of my own handwriting along the way.”
