The Bridge, one of East London’s best-kept secrets, will reopen on Saturday, September 17, after a long absence of two years due to the pandemic. With performances by Bruno Schmidt, Andrea Giudice, and Larry Cadge, Bubbledee and Berlin’s Club Der Visionaere Berlin host the inaugural party of the new age. Other events are Made in Romanyeah, Crowded, and some covert afterparties for Studio 338’s techno brand Release.
The Bridge is managed by the same seasoned group that oversees Studio 338 in London. It is a cozy, small-capacity club with a close-knit atmosphere for music-focused parties from underground businesses, DJs, and labels. The Bridge is one of the final bastions for underground parties in the East End due to its leftfield music policy and the widespread loss of venues to gentrification and real estate development.
The warmly inviting venue has two equally large floors, both of which are driven by a punchy and top-notch VOID sound system. It also has plenty of outdoor space, exposed brick walls, old wood floors, and exposed ceiling beams. The arena has previously bounded to performances by legends like Loco Dice and Goldie, and it is now prepared to resume making those unique kinds of musical experiences.
A brand-new generation of progressive events, companies, and record labels are included in the opening calendar, including Bubbledee X Club De Visionnaire on September 17th, which will feature underground house and minimal from Bruno Schmidt, Andrea Giudice, and Larry Cadge. Crowded on September 24 and Ryan Elliot, a Berghain favorite, headlining Bubbledee on November 5. Kazoku On November 19th, Astral Travel, aka Anthea, and Oshana will perform at The After Party, and in December, Bubbledee will welcome Answer Code Request, another prominent figure in the Berlin music scene.
