One-third of the legendary British dance institution Above & Beyond, Paavo Siljamäki releases his solo stellar album ‘Deeper Tales’ under his P.O.S alias. The 12-track album is OUT NOW on Anjunabeats.

What a way to revive his P.O.S alias! Above & Beyond‘s Paavo Olavi Siljamaki (P.O.S), has just released his highly anticipated debut album titled ‘Deeper Tales’. With a career spanning over two decades, Paavo has been an integral part of the electronic dance music scene, both as a member of Above & Beyond and as a solo artist.

The album is a culmination of his extensive musical journey, featuring a diverse range of genres and styles that showcase his creativity and versatility as a producer. ‘Deeper Tales‘ is a must-listen for any electronic music enthusiast, as it promises to take listeners on a journey through mesmerizing beats and captivating melodies. And through this personal project, Paavo has reconnected with the club scene and rediscovered himself, culminating in a captivating album that showcases his musical evolution as P.O.S.

However, the road leading up to this release was not without its challenges. Over the past five years, Paavo has struggled with personal and health-related issues, including multiple bouts of Covid and burnout that left him questioning his relationship with dance music. He admitted to feeling disconnected from the genre, having written and heard too many build-ups.

But despite this, Paavo found solace in nature, specifically through sailing. The sense of freedom and alignment with nature that he experienced while sailing inspired his work on Above & Beyond’s ambient album ‘Flow State’ and ultimately drew him back to the dance floor. Speaking about this experience Paavo says,

There’s no feeling of freedom like being at sea. When I’m sailing, I synchronize with the sunrise and sunset – we almost always get up at sunrise. So this is like being really aligned with nature. I found that, after my burnout, and Covid, I really found myself in nature. There’s something about being closer with nature that is really healing – and very inspiring.

Inspired by his teenage rave experiences and feeling the urge to dance in the middle of the crowd at Burning Man and clubs in Ibiza, Paavo seems to be in his element back again! His album ‘Deeper Tales’ reflects these recent experiences with uplifting and emotive club records, some of which debuted at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 500 and Anjunadeep Open Air L.A. events.

Paavo has already accumulated millions of streams for his ‘Deeper Tales’ album singles, with ‘Polar Bears’ reaching #6 in the Beatport Progressive House Chart. The album features his collaborations with artists like Spencer Brown, anamē, Kyan, Ercola, Richard Walters, and Marieme.

The twelve-track album takes the listener on a journey through the deeper and darker realms of electronic music. The album is a fusion of deep house, trance, and progressive sounds, with each track bringing something unique to the table. Tracks like ‘Is It OK?’, ‘Let You Go’, ‘Tahiti Burning Sunset’, and ‘Thunder & Shine’ are some tracks from the album that showcases Paavo’s versatility as a producer and his willingness to explore new sounds and genres.

Paavo’s debut album ‘Deeper Tales’ under the moniker P.O.S is a fantastic addition to his already impressive discography. And we honestly can’t wait to see what Paavo has in store for us in the future, both with Above & Beyond and his solo project P.O.S.
