The festival launched in 2019 with a mission to give female artists the chance to headline a festival.

Brandi Carlile has shared dates for the 2024 Girls Just Wanna Weekend, which is set to take place January 18-21 at the resort Barceló in Rivera Maya, Mexico. The resort, also known to fans as “Brandi Land,” offers attendees access to the beach, all-inclusive restaurants, and various on-site activities.

The four-night festival was founded with a mission to celebrate “women in rock and roll” in a time where male artists often rule festival lineups. When speaking about the event in 2018, prior to its launch, Brandi Carlile stated on social media, “These past few years I’ve really been noticing the exclusion of women at the top of mainstream festival lineups. This is a weekend holiday in Mexico celebrating women in rock and roll.”

Last year, the festival featured artists such as Carlile’s Highwomen bandmate Maren Morris, in addition to stars such as Wynonna Judd, Sara Bareilles, Yola, and Brittney Spencer.

A Blind Faith presale, dedicated for fans who’ve attended the event in previous years, is available starting July 29 at 12 p.m. ET and for those in Carlile’s fan club at 2 p.m. ET. The same day, pre-sale will become available to the public at 4 p.m. ET. According to the festival’s website, “Girls Just Wanna Weekend 5 event package pricing includes all music performances, accommodations, food, drinks, cocktails, activities, workshops, and so much more…prepare for a long weekend full of activities & programming curated just for you!”
