What could be better than a new music day? Today, Turkish-Italian DJ and producer Carlita drops a powerful new 13-track mix as part of the iconic fabric presents compilation series.
Hailing from Istanbul, Carla Frayman, better known as Carlita, has rapidly made her mark as one of the most exciting and genre-blending artists in the electronic music scene. A classically trained pianist from the age of three, her early passion for music laid the foundation for a career that now spans the world’s most respected venues and festivals.
From Awakenings Festival to Club Space, The Brooklyn Mirage, and, of course, London’s legendary fabric, Carlita’s sets have become must-see events for dance music lovers. One standout moment? Her Cercle set at Cinecittà Studios in Rome back in 2022—an electrifying one hour and forty-four minutes. performance that’s racked up over 1.7 million views.
To celebrate the release of fabric presents Carlita, Carlita also made a documentary returning to her hometown of Istanbul. The film explores the roots of her creative journey—from family life and Turkish cuisine to the vibrant energy of city life.
In it, Carlita reflects on her experience as a woman DJ in Turkey, saying, “It’s not very common in Turkey to be a woman DJ.” The documentary offers a personal insight into how Turkish culture has shaped her music and identity.
Her mix, fabric presents Carlita, is out now on digital, CD, and double vinyl via fabric Records. The mix showcases her signature style—groove-heavy, soulful, and effortlessly cool—and includes two exclusive original tracks: “Raf” and “Stop Now.”
