Casmalia, a rising San Diego artist, triumphantly returns to the release radar with her new single, ‘Is It a Dream.’

Casmalia’s catchy sound design, which draws heavily from disco, Detroit-style techno, and 90s hip hop, may be characterized as bass-heavy and touches both the minimal and melodic sides of the spectrum. The multifaceted artist’s most recent release comes shortly after the release of her and Sean Lafayette’s smash song ‘Escape From You‘ in October, which found a home on IN/ROTATION.

Starting off with a driving bassline, intricate percussion, and pitched-down glitch-like elements, ‘Is It a Dream immediately grabs the attention of the listener. The entire track features a seductive voice cut that takes listeners to a foggy environment that is full of mystery and intrigue. Before delivering a cohesion drop with seductive synth work and clean control ebbs, a growing tension keeps listeners on the edge of their seats as they wait for the next production piece. ‘Is It a Dream’ serves as a prime example of Casmalia’s distinctive production approach, establishing her as a force to be reckoned with within the thriving tech-house field and separating herself from any other artist in the musical sphere.
