With the new Universal Consciousness EP, Charlotte de Witte takes care of her KNTXT label’s 15th release. It follows up on the Amazingblaze – Venture EP with four more powerful and trippy techno tracks.

Charlotte hosted the ‘New FormV: Universal Consciousness webcast a day before its release on Wednesday, April 27th at 19:00 CEST, in partnership with Beatport. It was recorded with the epic production that was set up for the highly successful event on April 16th in the vacant Flanders Expo venue. Charlotte is fresh off the heels of her biggest KNTXT party to date, which took place in mid-April. It took place in her birthplace of Ghent, where she performed a historic 10-hour set in front of a large crowd who were transported on a true auditory voyage. Charlotte also returned to London’s legendary Printworks in April for the first time in five years, this time with her KNTXT concept, and raised the roof once more. She continues to curate the Apple Music x KNTXT website while on the road, as well as creating ever-new sounds in the studio. Her most recent EP is a subtle progression of her unique approach.

Satori,’ the EP’s first track, is dark and brooding. As the squelchy acid synths pan throughout the mix, the chunky, raw drums hit hard and flat. A lovely middle eastern vocal wail adds a trance-inducing element that is sure to capture the audience’s hearts and minds.

The amazing ‘Kali‘ is a fast-paced and sleek track that demonstrates the love affair between psy trance and techno. Next to alien sound effects, video game-style synths peel off the rhythm, and the subtly growing acid line digs deep into your brain.

The title track, ‘Universal Consciousness,’ is energetic, lively, and acid-laced. It’s a lush track with rubbery kicks and violent 303 loops that will melt your mind as dancers succumb to its hypnotic and tripped-out spell.

Ahimsa,’ with its brilliant, lashing acid synths and hammering kick drums, is the last track on the EP. It’s the ideal blend of physical groove and psyched-out synth work, and it’s suitable for hot basements as well as large main rooms. When the mysterious flutes start playing, it elevates everything to a whole other level.
