Kaskade and Chemical Surf are back with another explosive track after their recent collaboration, “Pow Pow Pow,” reached 10 million streams.
“Solta a Pressão,” a secret weapon in both artists’ concerts, combines the Brazilian sound of cuíca with the inventiveness and uniqueness of the two projects. The beat and singing of Osvaldinho da Cuíca carry us to an exuberant feeling, with all the Brazilianness present. By commemorating Osvaldo Barro, one of the best exponents of Samba, who gained the title of “Ambassador Nato do Samba Paulista” in 1974 and played alongside Yoko Ono, Living Color, and the Rolling Stones at the time, the brothers and producers thoroughly immerse themselves in the national culture. With this Brazilian instrument as the major piece, Lucas and Hugo Sanches created a surprise pivot point. The production was guided by the distinctive resonance of the cuíca and a desire for visitors outside of Brazil to become familiar with this native sound.
There’s something about the call and response of the rhythm in this one that is pure club fire. We have you taken care of if you need heat for the summer festival months ahead. My Brazilian brothers Chemical Surf and I have teamed up again and it’s about time to share it with the world!
