Chilean DJ, label owner, and promoter Joye Mitarakis has died. Berlin’s Club Der Visionaere confirmed the news on Instagram.
“Today the Club Der Visionaere community is mourning the passing of our friend Joye Mitarakis,” the club wrote.
The club described him as a “dedicated regular” and a part of their family. Mitarakis was well-known in Berlin’s underground music scene.
Born in Chile, he started DJing in the 2000s. He played at clubs like La Feria and Club Del Sol Sunshine. Later, he moved to Berlin and became a key figure in the local scene.
In 2017, he launched his label, Piros. It focused on electro, breaks, and house music. Many artists from around the world released music on Piros. The last release came in 2024.
Mitarakis also hosted events at Club Der Visionaere. He was known for his deep love of music and warm personality.
A memorial was held on February 2 at Berlin’s Hopetosse. Friends, family, and fans gathered to celebrate his life.
