Italian native Cristina Lazic returns to Rebellion following her recent release on the Souls Vol.2 VA last year.
Cristina Lazic, who was born in Milan and raised in London, began playing the piano at the age of six and grew up composing music. Cristina burst onto the scene four years ago and has since performed at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs and festivals. She also got Pioneer DJ Italy’s notice, who appointed her as an ambassador and role model for aspiring female DJs. Bondage Music, Creature Records, and Rebellion have all released her music. She leads the motherhood committee’s work to protect the interests of musicians with children as part of shesaid.so, the world’s leading community of women in the music industry.
A lively bassline drives the title tune ‘Burning‘, as airy vocals glide through dreamy layers of melodies and percussion. With a robust bassline, catchy vocals, and an inspiring atmosphere, ‘Jazzy Feeling‘ is deep and powerful. Last but not least, ‘Mirror‘ closes the EP, displaying Cristina’s mastery of hypnotic layers, seductive tones, and rolling dancefloor music that can be enjoyed anywhere, at any time.
Burning is an EP that will accompany people in a variety of situations – from introspective journeys in moments of reflection, to social gatherings with friends and all the way to the dance floor. It consists of three tracks that contain a mix of minimal sounds with groovy bass, with female / male catchy vocals and unique elements full of surprises. In Mirror I was inspired to include a guitar tone after listening to the great track “Taff” by Leonidas and Traumer; Jazzy Feeling is the result of an effort to combine minimal with funk and jazz music. Finally, with the lead track Burning I wanted to obtain a happy dance floor sound to make people dance, including unexpected elements, like seventh chords.
