Today marks the official launch of StrataSonic Records, with its first release ‘Rouge ou Noir’ featuring none other than Parisian house music luminary Dan Ghenacia.
Known for his role in the influential trio Apollonia, Dan Ghenacia introduces his new solo release, ‘Rouge ou Noir‘ EP, which showcases his signature blend of deep house grooves and innovative soundscapes. This three-track EP is a vibrant testament to Ghenacia’s decades-long journey through house music, solidifying his reputation as a master of the craft.
The title track, ‘Rouge ou Noir,’ kicks off the EP with looped, funky guitar riffs and glowing neon synths, weaving effortlessly through dusty, dynamic drum patterns that capture the essence of Ghenacia’s style. Meanwhile, ‘Chilly‘ pulses with a fusion of smooth, laid-back rhythms and rugged synth arpeggios that dart energetically throughout the mix, culminating in a low-slung, dub-inspired version that adds depth and variety to the release. Ghenacia’s extensive experience, honed over 25 years of DJing, curating iconic parties, and managing influential labels, shines through each track, highlighting his ability to evolve while staying true to the roots of house music.
Reflecting on the creative process behind the EP, Ghenacia shares, “Everything unfolded at a dizzying pace. Five days in a dream studio in Los Angeles led to Rouge ou Noir, a surreal and psychedelic experience with funky vibes.” His excitement extends to the new label, StrataSonic, which he praises for its boundless creativity and commitment to making a significant impact with this debut release.
