Brazilian DJ Danny Kolk released a new EP Dirtybird Records that’s sure to leave the dance floor soaked.

Dirtybird Records doesn’t seem to feel like a record label at times, as they tend to feel like a club. Several Brazilian DJs and producers found their home on the LA-based label, like Bruno Furlan, Plastic Robots, and Malik Mustache. As of late, another Brazilian named Danny Kolk made his full EP debut on the legendary label after many years. Prior to 2023, Kolk released his EP debut ‘Doctor‘ on the Dirtybird Select series and appeared on the Birdfeed subsidiary label. With his latest EP, ‘Easy Love‘, Dirtybird decided it was finally time to updraft Kolk to the official label, deservedly.

‘Easy Love’, the title track, begins the EP and immediately begins itself with an interesting “Boom Bap” style beat. All throughout the track, sharp cymbals and groovy basslines makes themselves the central focus of the track, Kolk’s signature vibe. Alongside those elements, staccato-like vocals appear at numerous points throughout the track, working to emphasize the vibe along the way. After that, ‘Balanced System‘ follows and begins with a very prominent and thundering bassline, as well as hard-hitting cymbals too. More staccato-like vocals and synths that feel glitchy, atmospheric, and even at times cavernous are also present throughout the track.

Danny Kolk wanted the chance to become the latest member of the elite Dirtybird club, hoping this EP proved it. After listening to it, I have no doubt he’ll become a member of that club, as I feel he’s worthy.
