The iconic American-Iranian duo Deep Dish, consisting of Dubfire and Sharam Jey, are set to return to the Global Underground series with the upcoming GU49: Dublin mix album. The release arrives 25 years after their first contribution to the brand, GU21: Moscow (2001), followed by GU25: Toronto (2003).
Deep Dish remain closely tied to the Global Underground legacy, with their earlier mixes widely regarded as benchmark entries in the long-running series. Their dark yet melodic approach helped push progressive house further into the spotlight, establishing the duo among the genre’s leading names of the era.

GU49: Dublin is scheduled for release this May and will include several exclusive bundle options, including a package featuring an art print signed by the duo. The project will be available across digital and physical formats, including a double-CD deluxe edition, triple 12-inch vinyl edition, and a limited collector’s edition.

A launch event for the album takes place tonight (Jan. 30) at Index Dublin, starting at 23:30 and running through close.
“Global Underground was foundational for us, not just as a platform but as a legacy — a series shaped by decades of iconic artists who helped define the culture of DJing and club music,” Deep Dish said in a statement.
The duo reunited in 2024 and have since returned to active touring and releasing, including ongoing work with Armada Music. They are also set to deliver their first-ever back-to-back set with Armin van Buuren during the 25th anniversary celebration of A State of Trance, on Friday, February 27.
