DJ Hydra, started producing music six years ago. It wasn’t until recently, when he began DJing a couple of years ago, that he decided to pursue music more seriously beyond just a hobby.

The title track, “Moyo Wa Upendo,” is a warm and soft single featuring stunning Swahili vocals, lush piano, a strong bassline, and punchy drums. This single holds a special meaning, as DJ Hydra explains: “‘Moyo wa upendo’ means the heart of love in Swahili and tells the story of someone who misses home.”

Like House” opens with a laid-back, easy-going pluck melody, rolling hi-hats, and deep vocals. But it’s more than just another single—it has a story behind it.

DJ Hydra shares, “‘Like House’ was originally a joke because some of my friends don’t like house music. I found a Skepta interview on BBC where he said, ‘If you like music, you like house,’ and I thought it would be fun to sample this into something groovy just to poke fun at them.”

While both singles are unique in their own way, they are well-produced and grounded by strong foundations. DJ Hydra promises to release more music as his journey has just begun, including exciting collaborations.
