To mark Shazam’s 20th anniversary, the service released a comprehensive list of notable moments throughout its history, including the most Shazamed song by genre, the first-ever Shazamed song, and more. Drake is the most Shazamed artist of all time, according to Shazam, with over 350 million Shazams across songs he has either been on or featured on. “One Dance” is his most popular song, with over 17 million Shazams.
Drake’s latest achievement comes after the Toronto rapper celebrated last week the moment he officially “got more slaps than The Beatles.” His DJ Khaled collaboration “Staying Alive” became his 30th song to reach the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking The Beatles’ 55-year record. In his Stories, the Toronto native used a shrug emoji to accompany a photo of an empty plate with the caption “Just another celebration.”
Drake also appeared on Nicki Minaj’s Queen Radio recently, where he discussed the possibility of retiring from music.
Drake made the remark about wanting to challenge himself musically in response to the polarizing reaction to his surprise album Honestly, Nevermind earlier this year, which he later addressed by declaring, “It’s all good if you don’t get it yet.”
