UK-based producer ESSEL released an ethereal new track, her latest on Toolroom.

EDM music obviously means to get people up and dancing, otherwise, it clearly doesn’t do its sole job very well. However, UK producer ESSEL got into music THROUGH dance, having gone through splicing sections of songs for dance competition choreography. Eventually, splicing led to composing her own music, on top of a love for Italian House music, and a career. Then, in 2022, ESSEL caught the attention of Toolroom, who proceeded to sign her to their roster and push her. Recently, ESSEL dropped her latest single on Toolroom, titled ‘The Edge‘, adding to other releases like ‘Love Vibrations‘ and ‘Runnin‘.

‘The Edge’, as a single, makes for quite a heavenly experience, as the tone keeps a light touch throughout it. While a mid-tempo beat gives the track consistency, synths keep a light vibe going, occasionally cutting out at the chorus. Lyrics throughout the track feel as if whatever edge they’re talking about, the narrator wants someone to get them there. Vocals on the track maintain the ethereal vibe and tone of the synths, drawing the listener into their aura. Overall, ‘The Edge’ feels almost transcendent of the EDM genre, allowing it to cross over into other genres later.
