What a lovely time to be alive! Spring is here, festivals are kicking off, and we have yet another outstanding release to dive into. This time, Spanish producers Fernando Lagreca and Axell López present their first-ever collaborative remix EP, Apalache Deals.

Released via Spanish imprint WRD Records, the EP features two originals and two remixes. At first, it might seem like just another record, but as you dig deeper, you’ll enjoy every second.

Backyard Hustle Deals” opens the release with a haunting atmosphere, shuffling hi-hats, a punchy beat, and dazzling vocals. On the remix side, Axell López takes a darker, deeper turn, introducing an unexpected hard techno groove with crispy claps and sharp drums.

Next, “Apalache” by Axell López keeps the energy flowing with a hypnotic sound, a dominant kick drum, and looped percussions, resulting in a peak-time techno weapon. Fernando Lagreca dials things back on the remix, crafting an eerie yet immersive atmosphere with solid drums and spooky synths.

Fernando Lagreca has been in the music industry for over 20 years. He started by producing drum & bass and ambient music until techno caught his attention. His love for dancefloor-driven grooves is evident in his polished and well-crafted productions.

Speaking about the release, Fernando shared:

“I knew Axell by name since he’s been in the scene for a long time as a producer, but we never spoke until a couple of months ago. I think we simply connected on social media, started chatting about this and that, and immediately exchanged some tracks. He invited me to remix one of his, which I did, and naturally, I sent him one in return. With the help of Paul from the label, we decided to make this collab EP. Instead of working on the same tracks, we each created an original and remixed each other, resulting in this four-track EP.”
