Barcelona-based producer and DJ Fernando Lagreca has released his debut album Motion Tactics, a nine-track project rooted in techno with touches of electro. The album arrived on April 24 via Anthropology.

With more than two decades in music, Lagreca is known for his hardware-focused approach, building tracks and live sets entirely from drum machines, sequencers, and analog instruments. His performances at Sónar, Amsterdam Dance Event, and BIME have reinforced his reputation for immersive, machine-driven sets.

Motion Tactics brings together a collection of ideas developed through hands-on studio sessions using grooveboxes, samplers, and synths. The album reflects a cohesive vision shaped directly from hardware experimentation, channeling both techno functionality and a broader conceptual message. At its core, the project frames techno as a form of resistance, capturing a response to the current moment and the tension of contemporary life.

Across its nine tracks, including “Contención Vs. Empuje,” “Logaritmo,” “1995,” “Sensación de Loop Infinito,” “Unter der Haut,” “Empate Técnico,” “El Pulso Induce,” “Persistency & Perception” and “Architecture of an Endless Pattern,” Lagreca explores a wide sonic range. The album moves between driving rhythms, hypnotic sequences, organic textures, and analog warmth.

Tracks like “Contención Vs. Empuje,” “1995,” “Unter der Haut” and “Architecture of an Endless Pattern” lean into atmospheric builds and progressive arrangements, while “Sensación de Loop Infinito” and “Persistency & Perception” push into faster, more intense territory suited for peak dancefloor moments.

Speaking about the project, Lagreca said: “The initial purpose was to create sound banks for upcoming live shows aimed at the dancefloor, but after several studio sessions, I realized I had more than enough material to turn them into full tracks.”

Following the release, Lagreca is set to perform a live show this Sunday in Barcelona at M7 Club alongside Joanna Dark and Ofred.
