Argentinian band Forma’s long-awaited debut on Anjunadeep with the magnificent new three-track EP, ‘In Control’, riding a tide of success of their critically acclaimed EP The Peak back in March 2022.
The trio – made up of Juan Hansen, Pablo Damian, and Rocio Giorgi – have taken their sound global since forming in 2020, with releases on Edu Imbernon’s Fayer imprint, Spectrum Spools, The Bunker New York, and MEIOSIS. They’ve also played standout live performances in countries like Brazil, the United States, Canada, and China, to name a few. Forma’s unique sonic palette and deep-rooted musicality are on full show throughout the EP, demonstrating their unwavering devotion to originality. The three-part package exhibits the band’s amazing originality from beginning to end, with faultless composition and a distinct cross-pollination of musical allusions shining front and center.
Speaking about the EP, the title track, ‘In Control‘, features sumptuous synths and tender lead vocals from band member Rocio. ‘Still Alive‘ has broken beats and vocal chops, while ‘Hold You‘ is led by Pablo’s vocals. The trio’s latest release exemplifies their distinct blend of vocal-driven electronica, which has earned them recognition from artists such as Gorgon City and Nandu.
In Control brings up the importance of emotional support; the value that a hug or a word of encouragement holds at a difficult time and how a simple gesture can have such an impact and make us feel alive again.
