Some musicians don’t exactly find their calling right away, and Fritz Kalkbrenner knows that sentiment rather well, to be honest. While his brother Paul and his best friend Sascha Funke followed the Techno movement, he preferred listening to hip-hop music. 1997 became the year that Fritz fell in love with and started listening to Techno, and later, started producing too. However, Fritz wanted to stand out from the crowd and decided to make his voice a feature in his music. Years later, ‘Here Today Gone Tomorrow’, his debut album, dropped and immediately made the rounds and got many people talking.

Not too long ago, Fritz released a new single titled ‘Waiting For the Sun’, a song perfect for mornings after. A standard House beat starts the track, before being joined by a clapping beat and melodic, grandiose synths. Cymbals present on the way keep tempo with the claps, making for an exciting and fascinating dynamic between the two elements. However, Fritz’s melancholic vocals, as always, make themselves the star of the show, having an exhausted tone like after clubbing.

Fritz Kalkbrenner gave clubbers something of a send-off song for mornings after a long night of dancing, partying, and excitement. I guess at some point, everybody needs to cool down, but that doesn’t mean the music needs to stop too.
