Los Angeles–based, Iraq-born electronic music artist HBB has released his new EP Challenge Everything. Out now via American label Pipe & Pochet, the EP features two original tracks.

Usama Douglah, known professionally as HBB, balances his work as an industrial estate project manager with his growing career in electronic music. He made his debut in 2023 and has since performed at venues and festivals across Los Angeles, California, Arizona, San Francisco, and Tulum.

HBB describes his artistic direction as creating “something emotional, something that moves people, but still hits in the club.” While DJing came first, producing has become his way of telling his own story—shaped by dual identity and cultural roots.

Challenge Everything arrives four months after his collaboration “Ya Ghali” with Los Angeles–based artist MIISH. The new EP draws from Middle Eastern melodies, rhythms, and textures, fused with modern progressive and deep influences.

The concept was inspired by navigating life between two identities and turning that tension into empowerment.

HBB says, “The idea of ‘Challenge Everything’ comes from constantly pushing myself to break rules, explore new sounds, and stay authentic. It’s music for the dance floor, but also music that says something about who I am and where I come from.”
