A new trailer has been released for Hurry Up Tomorrow, a musically-driven psychological thriller starring The Weeknd, Barry Keoghan, and Jenna Ortega. Directed by Trey Edward Shults, the film follows an artist on the brink of a mental breakdown who embarks on an intense journey with a mysterious woman.
Serving as a companion piece to The Weeknd’s latest album of the same name, Hurry Up Tomorrow explores themes of fame, pressure, and self-destruction. The album, originally delayed due to the Los Angeles wildfires, dropped last week.
In an interview with W Magazine, Shults explained, “It’s about an artist, you could say, on the verge of a mental breakdown.” Then, he added, “He meets this woman, and they go on this odyssey together. It’s a mix of psychological thriller and drama. I honestly feel like I’ve never seen a movie quite like it.”
To celebrate, The Weeknd will embark on a 26-date stadium tour across North America, starting May 9 in Phoenix, Arizona, and wrapping up September 3 in San Antonio, Texas. Playboi Carti and Mike Dean will join as supporting acts.
