The Los Angeles Based Education Program In Electronic Music Production is now accepting applications from those residing in LA and San Francisco.

IO Music Academy, a music production school, shared a new chapter in its commitment to nurturing the next wave of music producers. Teaming up with the There Is A Light (TIAL) Foundation, which is dedicated to providing grants for professional development opportunities, the academy is set to award 20 scholarships amounting to $70,000 in courses and more. The courses will be held in person in both Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The scholarship is tailored for individuals looking for an immersive and industry-focused exploration of electronic music production. This opportunity is open to those of all skill levels, catering to beginners and seasoned producers alike. The 20 applicants will be immersed in IO’s comprehensive six-month music production programs, which are valued at $3,500 each. Furthermore, they will benefit from personalized monthly mentorship sessions with IO Music Academy experts, exclusive access to fully-equipped studios, and weekly specialized workshops hosted by established artists and industry leaders.

Spring 2024 heralds the expansion of IO Music Academy, as classes extend their rhythm to both Los Angeles and San Francisco. With ten spots available in each of the two cities, the scholarship recipients in San Francisco will become part of the location’s inaugural class.

Since launching in 2017, IO Music Academy has been a beacon of forward-thinking music production education in Los Angeles, fostering a dynamic community of innovators and collaborators. Its alumni include notable figures such as Madame Gandhi, Mary Droppinz, Travis Emmons, Masha Mar, and SOOHAN.

The There Is A Light Foundation, founded by the multitalented Arash Homampour, a lawyer turned DJ, producer, and label owner known as The Archer, is committed to empowering individuals to pursue educational opportunities, including degree-granting and certification programs, to further their professional development.
