Australia’s electronic music composer Jamie Stevens, best known as a founding member of ARIA Award-winning trio Infusion, has announced his debut solo album Beginner’s Guide to Floating, out now, via Music To Die For Recordings.

The album features fourteen tracks, including “Tell You Later” as its opening track, “Tidings,” and “Dust,” which was released last Friday, August 15.

Stevens’ solo effort marks a shift from his acclaimed catalogue of club-ready singles and remixes (Bedrock, Anjunadeep, Mango Alley) toward a more expansive body of work. Collaborations with Skye Edwards of Morcheeba, French for Rabbits’ Brooke Singer, and cellist Wilma help blend shoegaze-inspired electronica, cinematic soundscapes, and emotional storytelling.

“I’d always wanted to make a solo album separately from Infusion, but it had to be perfect,” Stevens says.

“Albums like those on 4AD and Mute shaped me, and I wanted to create something with the same sense of depth, integrity, and musicality.”

Beginner’s Guide to Floating follows singles including “Stay,” “With You,” and “Transference,” as well as the recently released “Dust.” This Sunday, Stevens will play at the Skyline Rooftop Party in Glasgow, UK.
