Forward-thinking music producer and DJ, Joseph Ashworth, announces his second album Stay on his brand-new imprint Sound Of Outside.

Stay is a diverse record with influences ranging from Acid House (Fearless) to Italo Disco (Pepper) to Warp Records in the 1990s (Loved You). Stay is a concentrated and thoughtful body of work by Joseph Ashworth, who has grown a lot since his last full-length album, Grain, in 2015.

The plan wasn’t to make a full-length album at first. An opportunity occurred to launch an AI project (AIMI) in which machine learning would re-interpret pieces of his unpublished work to create an ever-evolving music experience. This prompted Joseph to compile years’ worth of music for listeners interested in cutting-edge technology, while simultaneously reminding him of his fondness for the traditional ‘album’ format. So, with less travel in 2021, Joseph created ten tracks that he painstakingly edited and organized into a seamless, engaging listening experience.

Pepper, the album’s first single, is a full-fledged club-pumper with an Italo-esque synth lead, chunky, strong kicks, and a chugging bassline.

Stay is the connection of ten tracks I started over the past five years. Time and patience were key in the recording process, with an aim to make each track as unique and emotionally vivid as possible.

– Joseph Ashworth

The album is set to be released on March 25th.
