Mexican DJ and producer Maria Nocheydia presents her latest release, “Acid Voicemail”, out now on Phisica. The release also features a remix by Ale Jandro.
Maria Nocheydia’s journey in music production began in September 2022, when her friend and talented mentor, Juan Soto, introduced her to his online courses for beginners. Soto, who also offers advanced courses, has a natural gift for teaching and breaking down complex concepts. His guidance helped Maria navigate the overwhelming early stages of learning music production.
Over time, she began experimenting with Ableton, slowly fiddling with the software until things started to click. It took nearly a year before she felt a real sense of understanding, but with persistence, the once-confusing process became more intuitive.
“Acid Voicemail” is a standout release for Maria, featuring a strong, dynamic bassline, crisp drums, and mesmerizing piano chords and melodies. The sound design on the single is truly nailed—there’s no doubt about it.
On the remix duty, Ale Jandro takes a deeper approach with filtered synths and a strong low end.
Speaking about the single, Maria shares her inspiration:
“I got to play at the amazing Juicy Bar stage at Garbicz Festival last year and started this track there, in my glamping tipi tent. The vibrant and colorful energy of Juicy Bar is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.”
“I played a very bouncy, groovy, housey, and fast peak-time set that will forever fill my heart with joy. Shout-out to Jose Noventa and Tiago Oudman for that gift to humanity. It’s therapy for the soul,” she continues.
Even though Maria Nocheydia is a fresh name in the electronic dance music scene, her music is already captivating audiences. She’s working on lots of new music and promises to explore new sounds and genre blending, while still keeping her essence.
