It’s been only a month since his last release “Sobers Me,” and American producer MarMar is already back with another gem, “Missing Me.” Inspired by UKG and Future House, the single blends nostalgia and melancholy, resulting in a deeply resonant track.

“Missing Me” is a perfect example of how a song doesn’t need many elements to make an impact. With carefully chosen sounds and driving synths, it’s a beautiful kickstart to the spring season.

The chords, in particular, stand out—and according to MarMar, they were created using a virtual instrument plugin (VST).

“I used a plugin called Ripchord, I think! I usually start there these days and then modify things a ton after,” he says.

Speaking about the track, MarMar adds,

“I worked on the song on and off for a few months, I think! It went through a lot of different phases and finally made it to where it is now.”

Later this month, he’ll make his DJ debut at N7 London on March 22.
