Australian duo Midnight Pool Party has returned with their third release of 2024, the vibrant and dance-worthy single ‘BOYS LIKE YOU.’ Following the success of ‘USE ME’ and ‘ONE DAY,’ the new track sees the duo experimenting with fresh influences while staying true to their signature groove. “We aimed for a song that could make people dance but also wanted to explore new musical influences, blending a Pop/R&B vibe with K-pop elements while maintaining our unique MPP sound,” explains Darren Morilla, one-half of the duo.
‘BOYS LIKE YOU’ captures the thrilling push-and-pull of early attraction, weaving playful flirtation with heartfelt vulnerability. “It’s meant to be fun because courtship and those early days of getting to know someone can be thrilling,” Darren shares.
Despite initial hesitation about the personal nature of the song, he embraced its message. “Love and attraction are universal feelings, and anyone can relate to the emotions in the song.”
