German producer Ronny Mollenhauer, known as Mollono.Bass has just released his latest studio album, Tears & Hopes. Featuring twelve original tracks, this marks the fifth studio album from Mollono.Bass.
The album dives deep into themes of uncertainty and resilience, melancholia and euphoria, fragility and strength — opposing forces that intertwine to form a sonic narrative resonating on both personal and collective levels.
When it comes to music, Ronny truly does it all — from founding his label Acker Records in 2006, followed by 3000Grad in 2008, to being a founding member of the legendary quartet Kombinat100. Whether behind the decks or performing live, Mollono.Bass brings minimal tech-house beats designed squarely for the dance floor, always infused with a generous dose of bounce.
The album opens with “Falling Apart,” a collaboration with Cologne-based producer MAZ’N. Warm, vibrant melodies build around charming male vocals and an immaculate groove.
Another standout is “Rise & Fall,” also featuring MAZ’N alongside Margret, blending dazzling vocals, profound beats, and uplifting melodies.
Tracks like “Stellar” and “Thunderstorm Crane” explore a more club-oriented landscape, showcasing Mollono.Bass’s rich sound design and darker, deeper tones.
“Another Fall” is yet another powerful collaboration with MAZ’N, featuring a rolling bassline, pitched synths, and spectacular vocals that soar.
The album also includes “Lost” with Andy‘s Echo — a nostalgic indie dance track with strong old-school vibes.
There’s even more to discover, and Tears & Hopes proves to be a masterpiece from start to finish. For listeners craving something outstanding and truly one-of-a-kind, this album deserves a spot on your playlist.
