It’s an exciting day for most—Friday always is—but for enigmatic producer ANiML, it’s a double celebration. Today marks the release of his six-track mini album, Star Walk.

Out now via Los Angeles-based label StrataSonic, the mini-LP dives into cinematic trip-hop, cavernous dub, and infectious melodies. Star Walk features six tracks: “Breather,” “Bruv,” “Titles,” “Cherry,” “BabyD,” and “Star Walk.”

Breather,” originally released on December 20, 2024, takes listeners on a trippy journey, blending haunting synths with an irresistibly catchy keyboard melody. “Bruv” slows things down with hypnotic breakbeats and menacing guitar riffs.

Titles,” the third track on the album, is more laid-back yet still deep, carried by an intoxicating bassline and playful guitar riff. “Cherry,” drenched in delay-soaked guitars, paints a colorful, post-rock-inspired soundscape—almost like a video game soundtrack you could listen to on a loop.

BabyD” leans into a loose, groovy bassline with a secretive yet addictive marimba melody, later joined by punchy drums. Finally, “Star Walk” wraps up, driven by a heavy-distorted guitar riff, a delayed bell lingering in the background, and marching snare drums.

ANiML has also dropped a music video for “BRUV,” created by Madrid-based AI visual artist and director YZA Voku. The video is a pure work of art, merging real-life recordings with digital effects like blur, negatives, masks, analog textures, and AI-driven transformations using Runway’s video-to-video tools.

As for the identity of ANiML? That remains a mystery. “It’s not about me; it’s about the music,” the artist says. Whether you’re a casual listener or a deep-diving music enthusiast, Star Walk is a journey worth taking—perfect for anyone looking to shake up their playlist.
