New York-based electronic music trio N/UM returns with their latest release, the Fade The Heart EP — a four-track collection that dropped last Friday, June 27, via the NINETOFIRE label.
The EP includes the previously released title track, “Fade The Heart,” which originally landed on June 13.
Known for their all-hardware, fully improvised live sets, the trio blends analog synthesizers, modular systems, drum machines, guitar, and vocals to create an immersive sound. Describing themselves as a techno and house music collective, N/UM’s sound is captivating, fluid, and deeply atmospheric.

The group has performed at top-tier festivals such as Mutek Montréal, Fusion Festival, Robot Heart, and Movement Detroit.
The EP kicks off with the title track, “Fade The Heart,” which features a progressive bassline, trippy percussion, filtered piano stabs, and deep, emotive vocals. “A Silent Prayer For You” follows with a hypnotic beat, shuffling grooves, and a tangled, introspective atmosphere.
“Look At It From Above” brings in a classic acid bassline, twisted pitch-bend chords, punchy drums, and a deep male vocal. The EP closes with Wrong Side of the Fence,” a dynamic, groove-driven track layered with refined textures and crisp sound design.
And here’s the twist — the entire EP was recorded in one single studio session. We don’t know about you, but this release definitely bangs — and we’re fully vibing to it.
