Swedish singer-songwriter David Josephson, who records under the name Nervous City Nervous Self, has released his latest single, “Act V (No Violence).” The track arrived last year, April 29, following his previous release, “Berlin Blues.”
Josephson, whose artistic foundation was shaped in Berlin, is now based in Sweden. His work continues to reflect the influence of the German capital, drawing on its club culture and electronic traditions while maintaining a songwriter-driven approach.
“Act V (No Violence)” showcases a restrained deep-house framework built around Josephson’s understated vocal delivery. The production favors atmosphere and rhythm, balancing repetition with melodic progression to create a steady, immersive track.
Speaking on the release, Nervous City Nervous Self says, “From heaven fell drops of honey — on the dance floor. Act V brings a moment of bliss and birth under a vast honey-dripping sky.”
Nervous City Nervous Self released his debut album, The Early Fears, in 2023. The project spans 10 tracks and runs just over 30 minutes, establishing his minimalist electronic sound and narrative focus.
