Oasis Festival reveals the complete lineup of acts for the festival’s 8th edition, which takes place from 6-8 September 2024 in Marrakech. The Moroccan electronic music festival also confirms it will take a break next year before returning with a brand new format in 2026.
Five Oasis Festival debutants complete the lineup for Oasis 2024, joining an already cultured mix of acts including Amine K, Anz, Driss Bennis, Haai, Jungle, Joy Orbison, Laurent Garnier, Nooriyah, Sama‘ Abdulhadim, TSHA, and many more. Leading the new wave of acts are UK star Interplanetary Criminal, who has energised the UKG scene and led its revival from the front with his fresh sounds and underground anthems that blend the old school with the new; Dutchman Interstellar Funk, a notoriously deep digger, who lays down wiry electronics and masterful synth sounds with a cosmic edge on the scene’s most cult labels; and Salute, a master of euphoric, feel-good house and bass bangers with high-energy drums and deeply emotional vocal hooks.
Arabic hip-hop champion Sotusura completes the lineup for Jyoty’s highly-anticipated stage takeover on Sunday, which also features sets from Rinse FM regular Jyoty, along with GЯEG, Blck Mamba and Toccororo. DJ, producer and label head Sotusura has been instrumental in developing the regional scene with his own events, open mics, radio shows and much more, all while bridging physical and musical boundaries as he goes.
Oasis Festival continues to platform local talents on the Pool Stage, which is curated by Somnii, a collective dedicated to developing North African artists. Moroccan selector whoiskenza is the latest act to join the impressive roster of talent set to perform, including Driss Bennis aka OCB, GJ Leith, Guedra Guedra, Polyswitch, Retro Cassetta, KOSH live, and Yaya.
For almost a decade now, Oasis has been the ultimate destination festival and the driving force behind North Africa’s now burgeoning festival industry. The pioneering event has consistently and authentically shone a light on Morocco, inviting thousands of adventurous music fans from all around the world to dance somewhere different and discover the country’s rich culture, music and traditions. Founded in 2015, Oasis was instrumental in bringing the world’s biggest electronic music artists to the region for the first time, as well as showcasing global future-facing sounds, and providing an essential platform for local talents to grow and flourish.
Fittingly, as it’s revealed that this will be the last edition of Oasis its current format, the festival returns to its original home in Marrakech this year, following two years on the road with spin off series ‘Oasis: Into the Wild’. One of the festival’s best-loved locations, The Source, with its lush gardens, winding walkways, azure pools, and stunning views of the nearby Atlas Mountains, will provide the perfect backdrop for this special edition of Morocco’s pioneering electronic music festival.
Oasis Festival founder and director, Marjana Jaidi said:
“We started Oasis with the mission to create a festival experience in Marrakech that would inspire people to travel, connect and grow. It’s been an incredible journey and we’re proud of the key role we played in establishing Morocco’s now booming festival scene.
“While we still deeply love and believe in what we’re doing, we see a greater opportunity to steer Morocco’s cultural landscape in an exciting new direction. As such, we’ve decided to take a break in 2025 to pursue this path. Oasis Festival’s essence will remain a cohesive thread through our future projects, but 2024 will be the last edition of Oasis, as you know it today.
“To everyone who has danced with us over the years, thank you for creating such a beautiful atmosphere with your energy, and for making memories that we’ll never forget. The final, classic edition of Oasis will be an iconic moment in our history that you absolutely don’t want to miss. Hope to see you there”.
