Italian musician Malandra Jr. is preparing to release a new Tetris EP, out this Friday, July 18, on Renaissance. The EP features four original tracks. Get an exclusive first listen to “Watafunk” below.
Malandra Jr. began playing piano in early childhood and later joined the conservatory, where he studied clarinet. He graduated with honors, won several awards, and performed with various orchestras and chamber ensembles.
He was eventually introduced to electronic dance music and went on to release tracks on renowned labels such as Click Records, Diynamic, Balance Music, Cocoon Recordings, and more.
“Watafunk” features a powerful low end, pounding kick drum, trippy atmosphere, organic percussion, high-pitched synths, and effected vocal chops.
