Eighteen months on from the release of his twelve-track Under Darkening Skies LP back in June 2021, famed German producer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Monolink now returns to one of the standout singles from his critically acclaimed sophomore album, as he enlists hotly-tipped, Berlin-based producer Sam Shure to provide his own unique take on Reflections.
Out now via Embassy One, Sam Shure’s remix sees the Stil Vor Talent mainstay impart an intense, underground energy into Monolink’s original single, as he unravels a dark web of glitchy soundscapes and deep bass beneath Steffen Linck’s instantly recognisable topline, to create a trippy techno cut that’s already been doing some serious damage across international dancefloors this year.
A staple in both artists’ live performances over the past few months, Sam Shure’s ability to captivate the listener with his forward-thinking sonic palette is second-to-none. Pairing adventurous, electronic sound design with highly experimental songwriting, his output is continuously developing as he adds new textures and layers to his hallmark; pushing his own creative boundaries each step of the way.
Having lent his production expertise to Mind Against’s recent Fabric compilation with the majestic Particles, Sam remix of Reflections marks his eagerly anticipated inaugural outing on Embassy One, following an impressive run of career releases on the likes of Stil Vor Talent, MoBlack Records, Frau Blau and Radikon to name just a few.
On the live front, the charismatic Berliner continues to channel an innate creativity into his versatile and captivating DJ sets. From Burning Man, WooMoon, Gardens of Babylon and Epizode Festival to hometown gigs at Watergate, KaterBlau and Sisyphos, Sam makes sure to cast a spell on his audience wherever he plays, with his very own definition of contemporary club music.
The remix release comes in the middle of Monolink’s “Under Darkening Skies” World Tour. Kicking off in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA on September 30 and ending at Zurich’s X-Tra on December 15, the 60,000 ticket sell out tour sees Steffen Linck take on thirty-six huge headline shows across the USA, Canada, Georgia, Lebanon, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey and Germany, including a sold out show at the UFO Berlin Velodrom, which marked his biggest headline show to date.
