The single is the long-time friends’ first collaboration and features mesmerizing synthesizers with a soulful topline.

Santiago Garcia, a Buenos Aires-born DJ, and Nandu, a Copenhagen-born DJ, shared their debut single as collaborators ‘Hurt Me,’ which offers listeners an exhilarating journey through a fusion of vibrant percussion and trippy synths. The release is the second on Garcia’s imprint S/GNATURE.

“This emotional collaboration with Nandu arose naturally from sharing years of musical knowledge and ideas,” Garcia stated. After several attempts, we were presented with the idea of using this unique topline, with the melodies and rhythm swiftly flowing from this. “Hurt Me” is an appeal to preserve a relationship. It addresses the harm that emotional attachment can have, both physically and emotionally.”

The release is characterized by an amalgamation of uneasy tones and mesmerizing synthesizers, presenting a sense of mystery. From the opening notes, the vibrant percussion sets a lively pace, driving the music forward with infectious energy. Meanwhile, the trippy synths add layers of complexity, weaving a tapestry of sound that mesmerizes listeners. However, the collaborators gave extra attention to focus on the lyrics.

“House music, at is core, needs soul. And that’s very much what I think we found in this track,” said Nandu. “The topline is a short outtake from a long piece of vocal, but we both thought that the soul was to be found in that particular cut ‘please don’t hurt me.'”
